An Upcoming Exhibition at The Commons
July 23 – August 2, 2026
Opening Reception: Friday, July 24 | 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
There are moments in Provincetown when the light transforms everything.
The familiar becomes transcendent. The sea glows silver beneath the summer sun. Morning fog softens the edges of Commercial Street. Dunes along the Cape Cod National Seashore rise like sculpture against an endless sky. For years, I have walked through these moments with a camera in hand — not in pursuit of perfection, but in search of feeling.
This summer, I am honored to share that journey in a premiere exhibition titled Days in the Light of Provincetown, opening at The Commons in Provincetown from Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, August 2, 2026, with an Opening Reception on Friday evening, July 24 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The exhibition brings together a collection of fine art landscape photographs, framed works, aluminum and acrylic panels, digitally enhanced images, and giclée prints drawn from both my published photography book Belonging: Provincetown and my ongoing photographic series, LANCEscapes. To gain access to an exclusive preview of the images included in the exhibit, join The Collector List.
These works reflect my continuing exploration of Provincetown as both place and emotional landscape. They are images shaped by atmosphere, memory, instinct, and light — often photographed spontaneously, “from the hip,” in fleeting moments that disappear almost as quickly as they arrive. Grain, softness, blur, and imperfection remain an intentional part of my process. I believe the emotional truth of an image matters more than technical precision.
In many ways, this exhibition also represents a personal return.
The creation of my book Belonging : Provincetown emerged during and after a profound health journey following after effects from a prostate cancer treatment — a period that reshaped my understanding of time, beauty, vulnerability, and purpose. Photography became less about documentation and more about presence: a way to slow down long enough to truly see the world again.
Provincetown has long offered that gift to artists.
Its light has inspired generations of painters, writers, photographers, and dreamers who have come here searching for clarity, transformation, and belonging. My goal is that these images offer viewers a similar pause — an opportunity to reconnect with memory, stillness, and something quietly sacred within the landscape.
The exhibition also introduces LANCEscapes, a new evolving collection of more accessible fine art works created to bring the spirit of Provincetown into everyday living spaces, alongside copies of my book Belonging : Provincetown.
I am deeply honored to welcome you to The Commons this July and to share these moments in the light together.
